Greeting mad makers and lovers of nostalgia, If you’re like me you always dreamed about getting a Star Wars Colorforms set. In my latest video, I just made those dreams a reality!
In My Video, I talk about how, try as they might Colorforms could never secure the license for Star Wars. But that didn’t stop them from producing every Space-themed movie and TV show they could. Here are a few of my favorites…
Flash Gordon- Now you can play as the daring adventurer who battles the evil Ming the Merciless in exotic alien worlds, Flash Gordon is a classic hero from the golden age of pulp science fiction.
Star Trek- Imagine yourself in the pioneering science fiction series that explores the final frontier of space, following the diverse crew of the starship USS Enterprise on their mission to seek out new life and new civilizations.
Space 1999- Create adventures set on a moon base hurtling through space after a catastrophic explosion, following the struggle for survival and discovery of the crew in a vast and mysterious universe.
Buck Rogers- Play as the 20th-century astronaut, Buck Rogers, is revived in the 25th century, where he battles futuristic threats with the help of his new allies in a high-tech, space-faring society.
The Black Hole- Enter A dark and suspenseful tale of a spaceship crew that encounters a mysterious black hole and a deranged scientist obsessed with harnessing its power, leading to a journey into the unknown.
Battlestar Galactica- Play out the saga of human survival, and follow the remnants of humanity as they flee from the relentless robotic Cylons, searching for a new home known as Earth in a distant galaxy.
Space Warriors- Colorforms even created their own space-themed heroes. Space Warriors allows players to assemble and battle with a team of warriors from each planet in our solar system, featuring customizable characters and epic intergalactic scenarios.
Star Snoopy- Even Snoopy got in on the action as he dons a space suit and embarks on interstellar adventures with the rest of the Peanuts gang, navigating imaginative alien landscapes and cosmic challenges.
And there you have it, Some of the many awesome space-themed Colorforms have given us over the years.
Do you have a favorite Colorforms set you wish they made but never did? Be sure to let me know.
Don't forget my Patreon has an archive of all the project files I’ve created, including the Star Wars Coroforms set.
That's all for this month. Until next time, keep making awesome stuff!
Thank you so much. I've been following The Retroist podcast and blog for many years and it's giving me tons of inspiration for my projects, so that means a lot. In researching for my video I was surprised at the amount of Colorforms that were made and which ones never happened. There are so many I wish would've happened but Star Wars topped the list.
Colorforms was the first place I was able to mashup different IPs before I knew what mashups were. I wish I'd kept them!
