Colorforms is well known as a beloved brand of reusable vinyl stickers and playsets, But Colorforms was always innovating and keeping play fresh and exciting. Let's dive into some standout sets and the special gimmicks that set them apart.

Twisto Change-O

The Twisto Change-O set is a brilliant example of Colorforms' knack for combining creativity with interactive play. This set features a unique twistable dial mechanism that allows kids to mix and match different character parts to create new, whimsical figures. The "Change-O" aspect of the set encourages imaginative play, as children can invent an endless combination of characters.

Thundercats 3-D

Bringing the beloved 80s cartoon to life, the Thundercats 3-D set adds a new dimension to the classic Colorforms experience. This set includes 3-D glasses that, when worn, make the scenes and characters pop off the board, creating an immersive play experience.

Sugar and Spice

The Sugar and Spice Colorforms set stands out for its charming and detailed design aimed at a younger audience. This set featured scratch-and-sniff stickers, adding a sensory element to the play experience. Colorforms was trying to capitalize on the popularity of Strawberry Shortcake but couldn't secure the license from Kenner. As a result, they created their own delightful characters and themes, focusing on baking, tea parties, and gentle adventures.

Space Warriors/Outer Space Men

Embracing the fascination with space and sci-fi, the Space Warriors/Outer Space Men set offers an adventurous journey into the cosmos. Unable to get the Star Wars license from Kenner, Colorforms created their own intergalactic characters and settings.

In addition to the Space Warriors Colorforms’ set Colorforms launched their first and only action figure line of bendable figures.

Happy Birthday Snoopy Pop-Up

The Happy Birthday Snoopy Pop-Up set adds a delightful twist to traditional Colorforms playsets with its pop-up feature. As the name suggests, the set includes pop-up elements that bring Snoopy's birthday party to life in three dimensions. This interactive feature enhances the play experience.

King Kong Panorama Play Set

The King Kong Panorama Play Set offers a grand and cinematic experience, allowing children to recreate scenes from the classic King Kong movies. The set's gates could unfold to reveal Skull Island, and flipping it around uncovered a second playboard featuring a bird's-eye view of New York City. This dual-playboard feature provided an expansive and detailed play area, encouraging epic storytelling and role-playing.

Mickey Mouse Magic Glow Fun House

The Mickey Mouse Magic Glow Fun House set adds an element of wonder with its glow-in-the-dark feature. By placing a light behind the playboard, hidden effects like lanterns, neon signs, and spooky ghosts are revealed, creating a magical and enchanting play experience.
